The reason Fridays are the greatest day of the week... new music! I have created a playlist with some of my favorite releases of this past Friday, but here are my top few!
Ty Myers: The Select
I was much more impressed by Myers' debut album The Select than I expected to be. His songwriting ability is mature way beyond his years with him being only 17 years old, but he has found a way to connect with his audience. "Firefly" is a personal favorite, and Myers took what I think to be a huge risk for his first album and covered John Mayer's "Man on the Side". I believe he did the song justice, and it is now on my list to see live, because if you have never seen Myers play guitar, dude is talented.
Cole Phillips: "Back Full of Feathers"
I have a few Cole Phillips songs in my rotation, and "Back Full of Feathers" is being added into that. Phillips has a super unique and raw voice, and I think this single is one of his best produced songs by far. He also has an artist playlist linked on his Spotify of his favorite songs, and we have identical tastes in music, so that makes an automatic fan of me.
Kameron Marlowe: "Here Lies the Fool"
Kameron Marlowe is an artist that I am convinced follows me around and writes song about my own life. Somehow his songs always have a feeling of relatability, and he has an insane voice. If you love sad country Kameron is the guy for you. "Here Lies the Fool" is a single from his upcoming Sad Songs for the Soul releasing on 2/21. I feel weird saying how excited I am for that one.
Nostalgia: Sons of Habit
Sons of Habit is one of my more recent finds, and they released their debut EP Nostalgia this week. The title track is honestly super comforting for me because I say quite often how much I hate the feeling of nostalgia (seriously, let's stop idolizing it). The whole EP has some amazingly emotional songs, and the band is incredibly talented musically. Their song "Madeline" is how I found them originally, the song is absolutely worth a listen!
